Enrollment

Welcome to FLT Academy

Ready to begin your journey as a pilot? Turn your dream into reality with FLT Academy—Utah’s largest and highest-rated flight school.

At FLT Academy, we believe quality training starts with access.  Aircraft and instructors can only accommodate a certain number of students at a time, and we never want to compromise your experience by overloading our resources.  That’s why we intentionally monitor monthly enrollments—to ensure every student receives the time, aircraft availability, and instructor access they need to progress efficiently.

Many flight schools over-enroll, leading to a high student-to-aircraft ratio that makes scheduling flights a real challenge.  We take a different approach.  By carefully managing class sizes, we’re able to deliver consistent, high-quality training without bottlenecks or delays.

If our upcoming class is full, we’ll get you placed in the next available training group—ensuring you have a clear, reliable path to your aviation goals.

To be eligible for enrollment at FLT Academy, prospective students must have the following items ready to submit to FLT Academy:

When to Enroll

FLT Academy starts new training classes each month. To begin flight training, students must complete enrollment no later than one week prior to New Student Orientation, which is typically held the Friday before training officially begins.

Enrollment can be completed up to six months in advance, depending on availability.

Exact enrollment deadlines, orientation dates, and training start dates vary month to month—contact FLT Academy if you’re interested in starting during a specific timeframe, and we’ll help you plan accordingly.

Schedule your Consultation

Before starting your training, it’s important to meet with FLT Academy’s enrollment team to ensure all your questions are answered.

Program Cost

Overall costs vary based on which program or type of training you are pursuing. FLT Academy includes virtually all associated costs of training in these estimates, but there are a few things we do not include. Expenses not included in tuition include:

  • Non-owner renters insurance
  • Cost of obtaining FAA medical certificates, driving records, backgrounds checks, drug tests, and any other documentation required for enrollment
  • Optional iPad cellular data plan

Transfer students can contact FLT Academy regarding adjusted tuition based on previous flight training logs.

Types of Programs

With FLT Academy’s Examining Authority, students who train consistently and meet weekly lesson requirements can anticipate completing the program in an estimated 10 to 12 months. Students on a less-accelerated pace typically finish in 13 to 15 months.

Those who train more frequently than the minimum weekly requirements may be able to accelerate this timeline, while students who fall short of weekly training goals should expect their training to take longer.

Flexibility and availability are key to staying on schedule—factors like weather, aircraft maintenance, and instructor availability can all impact progress, so maintaining an adaptable routine is essential to on-time completion.
