Use Your 529 Plan for Flight Training at FLT Academy

Recent federal updates to 529 plan rules now allow students to use their education funds toward flight training at FLT Academy. This means families can apply existing 529 savings to eligible training expenses throughout our Career-Track programs.

If you already have a 529 education savings plan, you may be able to use those funds to cover most, if not all, of your flight training – including required tuition, fees, and other qualifying costs. Every 529 plan is a little different, so we recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm your specific benefits and withdrawal requirements.

This update gives aspiring pilots another flexible option to finance their training and move confidently toward a career in aviation.

Fly FLT. Your future starts here.

Students and families are responsible for confirming that their individual 529 plan allows withdrawals for flight-training expenses at FLT Academy. While recent federal changes now permit 529 funds to be used for certain postsecondary credentialing programs, each plan may have its own rules, requirements, or state-specific considerations.

Before using 529 funds for training, please check with your plan administrator or financial advisor to verify eligibility and understand any potential tax implications. FLT Academy cannot provide tax or legal advice and cannot determine whether a student’s specific plan or withdrawal qualifies under their state’s guidelines.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. You won’t find a better place to get your training! Everyone at FLT has been extremely professional and have been as motivated as I am to complete every stage. I was one of the people that has been interested in aviation my whole life and just never took the plunge to do it. Take my word that making that leap with FLT Academy was the best decision I’ve made! My only regret was not doing it 10 years ago. But thanks to FLT I will have a long and enjoyable career doing what I love! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My personal experience with FLT Academy so far has been beyond amazing. I just want to point out how careful and thorough these guys are. I had my FLT orientation class today and it is amazing to see how much care and planning went into just this, and to have the opportunity to meet with Jason (CEO) and meet his incredible staff. I have heard rumors that FLT is the best of the best and from what I have seen so far, I believe that to be true.
