About This Estimator This tool is designed to provide a rough planning estimate for flight training at FLT Academy based on the selections you make. It is not intended to replace a one-on-one conversation with our team.
Because every student’s path can vary, it is very important to meet with an FLT Academy Advisor for a more precise estimate. A personalized estimate may be affected by factors such as the aircraft you qualify to train in, your training campus, any prior flight time or certificates, and other details specific to your situation.

This estimator is designed to give you a realistic idea of training costs at FLT Academy in a cleaner, step-by-step format.
You'll answer a few short questions, then review a brief acknowledgement before your estimate is shown.
Our approach is different from other schools that may advertise pricing based on federal minimums, best-case scenarios, or “as low as” figures. Our goal is to provide a more realistic estimate based on actual student outcomes.
Enrollment Checklist Costs
Before training begins, there are a few enrollment-related expenses handled outside of your training estimate.
These are anticipated costs and may vary by provider or location.

Both are optional. These qualifications may expand the types of flight instruction you're eligible to provide, although employment opportunities are never guaranteed.

We want you to understand what goes into the number you're about to see.
1. What's included in your estimate?
FLT Academy estimates are nearly all-inclusive. Depending on your selections, your estimate accounts for flight hours, fuel, books and materials, ground school, instructor time, FAA knowledge test fees, examination fees, EOC and practical test costs, and requested equipment such as a Bose A30 aviation headset and an iPad.
There are still a few items that are not included, such as enrollment-related documents and requirements, an iPad data plan, and aviation renters insurance.
2. How are our estimates calculated?
Our estimates are based on real training data from past students in our program. We do not build estimates around federal minimums, best-case scenarios, or “as low as” marketing figures.
Students who are well-prepared, study consistently, and make training a priority may finish below the average estimate. On the other hand, students who require additional training or proficiency flights may spend more.
FLT Academy is not a “use it or lose it” program. Unused training funds are refundable upon program completion. For financed students, refunds are returned to the lender as applicable.
3. Your actual costs may vary
Aircraft eligibility, campus, previous flight experience, individual proficiency, and training consistency can all affect your final cost. This estimator is a planning tool, not an official training quote.

Your Training Selections
What's included? Your estimate includes anticipated flight training, fuel, instructor time, ground schools, books and required materials, FAA examinations, EOC evaluations, practical testing fees, and applicable equipment and instructor add-ons. Items excluded in the earlier acknowledgement remain separate.

You won’t find a better place to get your training! Everyone at FLT has been extremely professional and have been as motivated as I am to complete every stage. I was one of the people that has been interested in aviation my whole life and just never took the plunge to do it.
